Project Goal: Develop a website compatible with both desktop and mobile devices promoting the biannual Lexington Classic event, an event providing visitors with a chance to shop at and experience three of the largest businesses in Lexington, North Carolina.

Process: My design process began with understanding what exactly the Lexington Classic strives to offer. Essentially, the Lexington Classic is an event taking place across three venues in Lexington, North Carolina: Evenbrooke Marketplace, Childress Vineyards, and the Bob Timberlake Gallery. It provides guests with the opportunity to shop plentiful handmade goods and food vendors at each venue, experience the unique offerings that each individual business provides, take advantage of a complimentary shuttle service, and experience the historic town of Lexington. After establishing the goals of the event, I ideated on what pages would be most appropriate and helpful in regards to portraying information about the event to website visitors. Lastly, I proceeded to interview and gather quotes from the individual business owners to include on each page, gathered images of each location during the event, and finalized the website layout and design based on the event’s branding as well as the information I had accumulated.

Result: The final website is one that conveys a feeling of sophistication and elegance, as well as the warm and inviting feel that the Lexington Classic is built around. Each page not only provides website visitors with objective information about the event, but also provides a glimpse into the character of each venue and of Lexington itself, ultimately being an immersive, interactive, and personal experience for anyone who visits the site.
