Project Goal: Create a hypothetical two-day symposium by choosing a topic to focus on, gathering potential speakers, and building a schedule for the conference. Then, develop a booklet for the symposium including content pieces and the event’s schedule as well as an app that attendees would download to personalize their symposium experience.
Process: For my initial research, I looked into notable figures related to general theme of experience including augmented reality, virtual reality and XR to start gathering who would be speakers at my symposium. As I collected speakers, content, and events that would occur, I landed on the overall theme of the use of virtual reality in entertainment for this symposium. From there, I created a schedule around these speakers and their events and utilized branding elements that encapsulated the aesthetic this symposium would evoke to design both a booklet and an app guiding attendees through the two days.
Result: The final product is the “Press Play, 2025” symposium focusing on, “exploring opportunities for virtual reality in entertainment”, highlighted in both the booklet publication and the personalizable app.
