Project Overview
Kat Kosar Photography is a photographer based in Chicago, Illinois. She photographs graduation shoots, weddings and engagements, events, and solo bookings. She came to me requesting a new logo and business card to utilize as she had been operating up to that point without either.
Design Process
Initial Ideations
I began this process by quickly building rough drafts of potential wordmarks and logomarks for the client. I knew her style was elegant and simple with a bit of a vintage, classic feel. So, I drafted some ideas that used simple, classy typefaces combined with a few logomarks that reflected the flash from a camera.
Upon presenting initial ideations to the client, we found that she really wanted was to lean more into the elegance of her brand. Based on that fact, we decided to move towards a flowing typeface with no iconography used, as well as gold foil on top of black for the business card.
Refinement
Final Product
The final wordmark, logomark, and business card are simple, elegant, and striking, perfectly capturing the essence of Kat Kosar Photography.
